Problem Note 34457: Migrating from SAS® 9.1.3 to SAS® 9.2 might fail when a repository container data set has duplicate entries
Migrating from SAS 9.1.3 to SAS 9.2 might fail when any repository container data set contains duplicate entries. The SAS® Metadata Server I/O subsystem will return the following error message in a dialog box:
ERROR: You cannot delete TMP002.MDASSOC.DATA because TMP002.MDASSOC.DATA
is in use by you in resource environment Object Server.'.
Contact the SAS Metadata Server administrator for assistance.
Note: TMP002 is a repository reference and MDASSOC could be
any container data set in the repository.
The \SAS\config directory\Lev1\Logs\Configure\UpgradeMetadata_n.log file contains details regarding the failing repository that are similar to those which follow:

To circumvent this problem, open the CNTAINER data set or the data set in the error message that is located in the migration package, using either SAS 9.1.3 or SAS 9.2. Remove any duplicate records and rerun the migration. If the duplicates can be easily found, all records with PERSIST in the CRMETHOD column can be deleted safely.
